Creative Enterprise Summer School with Articulate Cultural Trust August 2022

We were delighted to invite Articulate Cultural Trust in Glasgow to join us for three days of making and creating at our studio in the Creative Exchange. The young people were introduced to expressive painting in a workshop with artist Astrid Leeson. These paintings were then digitally edited to create a series of prints and greeting cards. Designer-maker Ruth Morris of Roobedo showed us how to make bucket hats (and more!). The young people as always were able to self-direct their practise with support and guidance. A couple weeks later we reunited in Glasgow to prepare and deliver a stall at the Wasps Summer Market at the Briggait. This was a fantastic opportunity for the young people to experience the creative process from the initial ideas stage through to the final product, packaged and presented in a real life market! Not only did they learn new techniques and methods of making but also how to prepare and set-up a market table then professionally sell their work to potential customers.
